NICOLENE EASTON
Founder and Director of TruckWise Academy
Nicolene Easton brings firsthand heavy-vehicle driving experience and a broad background in transport operations to TruckWise Academy. Her experience spans fleet and workshop management, fuel management, procurement, creditors and administration, as well as managing a fleet of vehicles in the towing industry.
Her responsibilities included assessing prospective heavy-vehicle drivers before employment. During these assessments, she repeatedly encountered a gap between holding a licence and understanding the vehicle. Some drivers struggled to interpret dashboard gauges, identify components or explain the purpose and correct use of vehicle functions.
A Practical Perspective Shaped by the Road
These experiences gave Nicolene a clear purpose: to help drivers understand the vehicles entrusted to them and the responsibility that comes with operating them. She founded TruckWise Academy to build that understanding through structured, accessible training—giving drivers the knowledge to treat vehicles with care, recognise concerns, make informed decisions, and communicate clearly with fleet and workshop teams.
Proven Cross-Border Heavy-Vehicle Experience:
Operational Routes: South Africa, Eswatini (Swaziland), Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Namibia.
Mastered Combinations: Flat-deck and drop-side super-links, side-tipper interlinks, tri-axle refrigerated trailers, tri-axle sliding-bin rear-end tippers, and two-axle scissor-stabilized end-tippers.
Having worked behind the wheel and in transport management, Nicolene understands the immense importance of a shared understanding between drivers and the teams supporting them. That practical, dual-perspective approach shapes TruckWise Academy’s commitment to premium professional standards.
